Part One opens with Brianna and Alise set to go for a ride in the Rambler.  Brianna can't get the car started so she asks Alise to try while she looks under the hood.  The Rambler finally starts but stalls as Alise drives so she asks Brianna to crank the car.  It finally starts but dies in the driveway when they get back home.  Part Two features Isobel who is meeting a friend for lunch. When the Rambler won't start, she calls her friend on her cell phone.  Isobel finally looks under the hood and tries in her stocking feet, but she gives up when the battery begins to die.
